Central Texas had a "brush with stardom" in the middle of 1958 when Elvis Presley was stationed at Ft Hood for 6 months for Basic Training before being shipped to Germany where he spent most of the rest of his tour of duty! His commanding officers were insistent that he receive "training like everyone else" although some of the chaos couldn't be avoided! I researched the time and found an article published in the Temple Telegram over a year after Elvis had left Ft Hood. The local news had a "gag order" placed on them, although Ft Hood couldn't control national and international news media! What I learned from my research inspired me layout with True North Scraps THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Here's my layout
Photo used from article in Temple Daily Telegram in September 1959!
It is definitely cold and flu season, and here in Texas it is allergy season for those who are unfortunate enough to be allergic to cedar pollen ... it is flying! Both Mike and I are allergic so our time together recently has been punctuated with loud ACHOO sounds ... like the kit by the same name by True North Scraps.
Dawna has some cute little "germs" in this kit ... Chase seems to have caught the "bug!"
and I did this one for the Template Challenge at Scraps-N-Pieces
More coming soon!
