Wow! I was impressed ... but I had to wait until after our vacation to apply to Patty B for a position on her Creative Team! And she was as happy to have me as I am to be there! I think our styles blend well, and look forward to many more projects using Patty B Scraps kits!
She recently released her June edition of an ongoing project: PROJECT HERITAGE JUNE
I had a SPECIAL photo in mind for this project, and had to wait until today to borrow it from my mom, so while I was waiting to finish the layout, I decided to turn the cluster frame in my layout into a FREEBIE to share here on my blog. My layout is finished now. The layout features a template from Jen C Designs JUNE TEMPLATE GRAB BAG - BLENDABLES
The minister in the photo at the top left is my beloved Grandfather, Chalmer Lewis Mollenkopf, who was born and raised in Northern Ohio, and attended Capital University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. I had heard about both places from many years, but had never been to Columbus before (well maybe as a YOUNG child, but I didn't remember it). So I routed us through Columbus on our road trip to Rochester, New York in May, and we were able to go see the campus of Capital Univ and Trinity Seminary early in the morning on May 27! The photo blended into the background was taken that day! Not sure of the age of the building, but the sign says the Seminary was established in 1830, and Capital University was established in 1850! Both campuses were deserted (it was early in the morning on Memorial Day) and I was able to walk around and snap a few photos! What a great pleasure it was to finally see those places I had heard so much about all my life! The photo of my grandfather was taken in the pulpit at First Lutheran Church in Floresville, Texas, his last congregation. He celebrated the 4oth anniversary of his ordination there in the summer of 1960, and passed away in November of that year! (which was a great loss to all of us!)
Now on to the FREEBIE I promised - a frame cluster similar to the one on my grandfather's photo!
