My February 2012 Challenges at DIGI SCRAPS DRIVE IN

As always, I have been active at Digi Scraps Drive In for February Challenges.  Here is my list of layouts I've done for the challenges over there at DSDI

ALTERED ART

Our hostess Jess challenges us to create a layout in color and then convert it to Black and White.

I discovered that I like it much better when I worked with the layered file and desaturated each layer separately, so that I could control how it looked with layers above and below.  I love the little "shimmer" that it appears to have!

GO FOR THE PINKS (color challenge)

Pink is not my favorite!!!! And this color palette was FULL of pinks!  OMG ... I had to do it!

MADE IN THE SHADE (TEMPLATE CHALLENGE)

The template for this challenge was made by Jen C Designs (I love her templates - and have an extensive collection which I use a lot!)

poki selected 5 layouts in the gallery from 5 DSDI members, wrote descriptions of the 5 layouts.  Participants were given only the description to work with - I let the first person to complete the challenge pick a number for me! Her son picked number 3 -

Description for #3 1. several layers of paper as background, some straight, some off center

2. large focal photo in one corner, with full cluster on one edge

3. several smaller photos in portrait and landscape, arranged in diagonal across the page

4. word art title in space around diagonal photo arrangement

5. also, journaling in space around diagonal photo arrangement

6. add a few additional elements arount he page

I hosted this challenge for February as well - we were to highlight our parents or other family members relationship!

Photo - these are my parents cutting the cake on their wedding day, June 18, 1949. I came along as a nice surprise a little over 9 months later!

This layout was made into a QUICK PAGE which was given as a FREEBIE on the DSDI Blog.  It is still available through Feb 29 here on the DSDI blog!

CAN YOU DIG IT?  (Advertisement challenge)

HollyinPA provided a really cool OLD Ford advertisement for this challenge -
