I am excited about this new opportunity to work with Ryan of Roseytoes Designs - I love what I've seen so far! More to come ...

TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE

Our challenge was to show how we color corrected a dark photo.

PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE

 

Description:  These six steps were provided by the first 6 people who posted steps in the challenge.

1.  Select 5 papers, 2 for background and 3 to cut into shapes

2. Choose 3 photos, 1 large and 2 in smaller size.  Place them in 1 corner of your layout.

3. Use at least 6 flowers and two ribbons (may duplicate as needed.

4. Use an alpha in the title

5. Add a border

6. Blend one additional photo into the background (This was my addition to the challenge!)

I discovered that I like it much better when I worked with the layered file and desaturated each layer separately, so that I could control how it looked with layers above and below.  I love the little "shimmer" that it appears to have!

In this challenge I had  to scraplift from the member who posted above me in the Forum thread - I picked tammyshere, found a great layout in her gallery with blended photo and was happy doing this layout!

Giggly Polka Dots RETIRING HER STORE sale

Giggly Polka Dots (aka Jess) has decided to go back to college, and in an effort to really concentrate on her studies, she has decided to "RETIRE" from digital designing.  I have enjoyed being on her Creative Team for the last few months.  And I've been busily trying to complete my Giggly Polka Dot collection.  I added (graciously given to me by Jess) two more template packs to my GPD collection:

This layout was also completed for the COOL TUNES challenge over at DSDI - we were to be inspired by Billy Joel's DON'T GO CHANGING!  Mike and I have definitely changed - TOGETHER - in the 15 years we've been dating!  (We're older now, for sure! - but LIFE IS GOOD!)

This layout was done using Template # 1 from PACK 2 and Caterpillar

 

I just love her mix of coloras and patterns!  Be sure to check it out at the DSDI store before Feb 29 when it will be gone for good.   (Link will no longer work after Feb 29)

For Template Pack #3, I used some butterfly photos from our last shoot at Zilker Botanical Gardens in November 2011.  The gardens were still blooming, and this Monarch butterfly was very happy there!

Jen C Designs FEBRUARY TEMPLATE GRAB BAG

Jen C Designs has a great new template grab bag available today 2/17/2012 at Digi Scraps Drive In (only until Feb 29) and at THE STUDIO.  It has 16 templates for an amazing price - $3.99.

I downloaded on Thursday morning and had two amazing layouts (I think they're amazing anyway) done before  the end of the day.  The first layout features my cutie patootie great nephew Chase (thanks, Julie, for sending pictures via Facebook.  I can watch him grow up there! )  I also used Jen's FRESH START kit in the layout - available at DSDI and THE STUDIO

My second layout from this grab bag was done with LOTS OF FRAMES #4 and SHABBY SPRING.  The photo shoot was at the Lamberton Conservatory in Rochester,  New York when we visited Mike's sister Pat and her husband.  Even my wrist in a cast couldn't stop me from taking flower photos - I love the Conservatory (had been there before) and Highland Park was gorgeous too (It was LILAC FESTIVAL time!)
