There is a personal freebie from my THIS & THAT  - states collection on Projects by poki today.  I made 3 frames with my favorite state TEXAS in them!  (I just didn't have time to do all 50 states, so I wrote simple tutorials about how I did the frames, so my fans can MAKE THEIR OWN STATES!)

Today's Designer freebie features Clooney & Me

WESTWARD HO

Coming from a family of pioneer immigrants (my paternal great grandparents came to Texas as Lutheran missionaries in 1881) this kit was perfect to remember the family homestead, purchased in Bell Co in 1887.  (My grandfather was a toddler when they finally settled in Bell County after 6 years serving in many communities around Texas!  My great grandfather became a full time farmer, and also served the spiritual needs of other German Lutherans in the area, organizing Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1889 (126 years ago).  Our family is still members of Immanuel!  Here is my layout featuring WESTWARD HO and a template which I designed.

I loved working with this sweet kit, with so many options to use!  I especially like the little cross-cut log that says "today!"  I knew that I had to include it in my layout and the freebie too.  My layout features not only BEAUTIFUL DAY but also a template from La Belle Vie Designs DUO 08 CHECK MEOWT  (even though there is not a cat in sight in my layout!)

I always love working the the bundles from Over the Fence Designs ... sometime near the end of 2013, they began a series of collaborations based on song hits from the past!  And they just keep on cranking out the "tunes" and the kits together!  What an amazing work ethic this pair has!

There are many months during the year (NOT summer!) when jeans are my only "dress of the day!"  After many years of teaching school, and not being able to wear my jeans, I really enjoy grabbing my jeans for everyday wear, now that I am retired!  I love my jeans!  My boyfriend Mike is the same ... he begrungingly will put on dress slacks maybe once a month, but jeans are his everyday wear as well!
